Awesome Tuesday!

Mathieu arrived last wednesday and we kinda just bummed around and got organized the first couple days. But on Tuesday we really did stuff. We had tickets to go see RENT with Lauren in the evening but we took the day to do stuff in midtown. We met Ariella at NBC studios and got a special insiders tour a-la-Ariella which was amazing! We went with the NBC discount of $4 to the Top of the Rock which was amazing! and after that we walked around 5th ave until RENT at 8pm. I dragged Mathieu into Tiffany's and then made up for it by letting him play at FAO Schwarz for a while. lol.





Quick review of RENT: HOLY SHIT. ok 1. i felt like i was at a backstreet boys concert because everyone was screaming and cheering which was insanely bazaar at a broadway show - but i kinda loved it because it was Adam friggin Pascal and Anthonly mother friggin Rapp! It was absolutely amazing! Lauren and Mathieu loved it too. but afterwards, there was a HUGE rush outside to go and see them and dude - there were barricades set up to hold back the crowd and a car waiting for Anthony. there was a 10 year old girl behind me who was crying and screaming "ANNnnnnthoonnyyyyyyy".....i laughed. but dude, SO good.

Spring Awakening

I saw Spring Awakening on Broadway last night and its been on my mind ever since the curtain closed! it was SOOOO good!!! the music was GREAT! and the most amazing and powerful voices come out of those kids on the stage! Also, i have never seen a cast filled with such beautiful people! it was amazing and i HIGHLY recommend that everyone go see it - just be prepared for the hot ass shot and the thrusting......which in my mind just made it even better! lol.

HARRY POTTER SPOILERS BELOW!!!!

Wow so i just finished the book - HOLY SHIT! Here is the rundown:

- Hedwig and Dobby so didnt need to die. that was just cruel! i couldnt believe she killed Hedwig!!! argh.

- Snape dying was both genius and disappointing. i really was hoping that he would give it one last fight against Voldie - like one las "i did it all for Lily" horrah. BUT the memory thing was really genius.

- My sister almost totally ruined it for me over the phone when she said that ppl were saying that Ron died .... i almost died when she said this. and while i am SO happy that Ron isnt dead, i really did think that someone closer to Harry would have died - my bets were on Neville or Ginny. and i do LOVE Harry and Ginny together - so i guess i cant complain.

- The epilogue??? really good idea and it was cute and all but dude - she didnt tell us ANYTHING! like what they are doing? is Harry and auror, is McGonagall head of Hogwarts? what is Hagrid up to? so many questions never answered.....

- the fight scene at the end with Harry - AMAZING!!! while it is a little lame that Harry magically came back from the dead, i knew that he couldnt die - these ARE kids books afterall, AND that part with Dumbledore was really important, it brought closure, etc, Harry's whole "pretend to be dread until i can duel and kill Voldie" thing was crazy awesome. oh, and Mrs Weasley saying "BITCH" made my day.

le sigh, i cant WAIT for this movie.

my bike :(

i woke up thismorning, a day when it was POURING rain outside, walked downstaires and realized that my new bike was stolen from INSIDE my building. i have no idea how they got through that lock......i hate NYC right now.

omfg!!!

i will be off the internet and guarding my ears for the next week.....or until i finish HP!

i love me some bikecycles

so today i bought a bike from one of my co-workers at PB&Co. i have been looking all over craigslist for a cheap but good bike that i can leave on the street and then last night at the employee dinner, Carrie was like "hey, just take mine. Ill give it to you for $40".....done deal!

i went and got a bike lock today and rode it home from work which was one of the most frightening moments of my life....mostly because the seat is a little too high and i kinda forgot how to ride a bike. hehe. but it got better and i made it home safe.

then i heard about this crazy awesome thing thats going on in Paris called velib where you can pick up and drop off bikes all over the city and ride them anywhere. its SOOO cheap too! like 30euros for a whole year. and there are tons of pick-up and drop off points like every couple of blocks or so....genius.

tomorrow im off to lower the bike seat and put a basket on the bike....he needs a name i think. any suggestions?

full body sunburns are not so fun!

Yesterday Court and Alexa and I went to Jones Beach! We took the LIRR and then the shuttle buss from Freeport station - so easy! it only took an hour or so. The weather was perfect and the water wasnt too cold - Court and I actually went in quite deep! The only down side was that we got SO SEVERELY burnt! literally, my WHOLE BODY is burnt and oh-so-painful! Im sitting at work right now, glowing, and not wearing underwear or a bra because that was too painful. oh, and this morning i almost fainted. i think we have mild sun poisoning because headaches, nausea, and dizziness are happening.....what did we do??
