my bike :(

i woke up thismorning, a day when it was POURING rain outside, walked downstaires and realized that my new bike was stolen from INSIDE my building. i have no idea how they got through that lock......i hate NYC right now.

omfg!!!

i will be off the internet and guarding my ears for the next week.....or until i finish HP!

i love me some bikecycles

so today i bought a bike from one of my co-workers at PB&Co. i have been looking all over craigslist for a cheap but good bike that i can leave on the street and then last night at the employee dinner, Carrie was like "hey, just take mine. Ill give it to you for $40".....done deal!

i went and got a bike lock today and rode it home from work which was one of the most frightening moments of my life....mostly because the seat is a little too high and i kinda forgot how to ride a bike. hehe. but it got better and i made it home safe.

then i heard about this crazy awesome thing thats going on in Paris called velib where you can pick up and drop off bikes all over the city and ride them anywhere. its SOOO cheap too! like 30euros for a whole year. and there are tons of pick-up and drop off points like every couple of blocks or so....genius.

tomorrow im off to lower the bike seat and put a basket on the bike....he needs a name i think. any suggestions?

full body sunburns are not so fun!

Yesterday Court and Alexa and I went to Jones Beach! We took the LIRR and then the shuttle buss from Freeport station - so easy! it only took an hour or so. The weather was perfect and the water wasnt too cold - Court and I actually went in quite deep! The only down side was that we got SO SEVERELY burnt! literally, my WHOLE BODY is burnt and oh-so-painful! Im sitting at work right now, glowing, and not wearing underwear or a bra because that was too painful. oh, and this morning i almost fainted. i think we have mild sun poisoning because headaches, nausea, and dizziness are happening.....what did we do??

Yay for Alcohol and Rooftops!

Last night me and the roomies threw an amazingly successful party to welcome Courtney back form the land of the dutch....and to celebrate Friday 13. It was pretty much a shitshow that involved the discovery of our rooftop. we have decided that we are going to bring a kiddy-pool up there, fill it up with water from the brita filter, and tan all day!

All and all, a very successful party. sorry to those of you guys who left early or didnt make it....i.e. Diana (and Callan and Andrew), Keith, Pooks, Tyler and Gabs.....you guys missed out! here are some highlight pics:

Harry Potter and the OOTP

last night me Lauren and Court went to the midnight IMAX 3D showing of HP and heres the run-down:

AWESOME:

- Helena Bohnam Carter playing Bellatrix
- Luna Lovegood = GENIUS
- Umbridge was awesome
- Ron is as hot as ever
- 3D fight scene at the end was SO INSANE!!! the glass exploding from everywhere and - vs Voldie was soooo amazing to watch!
- Voldemort was, once again, incredible.

WHAT SUCKED:

- Dan Radcliffe for the whole first half of the movie
- The director SUCKED....he didnt capture why Harry was so angry throughout the whole movie and under dramatized it so the movie up to the fight scene was just bland
- there was no quiddich....i.e. Ron never made the quiddich team (wtf?)
- they left out the whole part of the prophecy where it could possibly be Neville who would be the boy tho was to kill Voldie....lame.


The fight scene at the end in IMAX and 3D made the movie for me. The whole first half, however, was sped through too fast and was not as dark and amazing as it should have been.
